MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION
Overview
Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, so we can bring awareness and acceptance. It involves:
  • Focusing our attention on our present-moment experience, e.g., our breathing or bodily sensations
  • Guiding the attention back to the present, each time the mind wanders (it will)
  • Doing so with a sense of patience and gentleness

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR is an established 8-week group course that’s helps people develop a different relationship to stress. It combines mindfulness meditation practice with the tools of cognitive therapy.
It can help people learn to:
  • Improve their levels of awareness and concentration
  • Discover new ways to cope more effectively with difficulties, pain or suffering
  • Develop the ability to cope more effectively with both short-term and long-term stress
  • Develop an ability to respond rather than react
  • Care for themselves and find greater balance and peace of mind

Benefits of MBSR
  • Research has demonstrated improved behavioural outcomes including better sleep, lower blood pressure, and fewer worries
  • May lead to improved focus, resilience, and capacity to recover more quickly from challenging events
  • Many psychological, emotional and physical health benefits have been reported in scientific literature

£250 per person.
